Spirit is proud to host fun and inclusive domestic basketball competitions at PCYC Marrickville! Players can develop their love of the game in a friendly and supportive community environment. We promote the values of teamwork and respect: for each other, your coach, the officials and yourself. We also expect our parents to demonstrate and uphold these values.

Marrickville Spirit U10s & Under 12s competitions runs on Saturdays, at PCYC Marrickville during school term. The competition times are,

• Saturdays     from 11:30am till 1:30pm

Games will be scheduled depending on the number of teams registered during the term.

 Competition age groups 

​

• U10s – Born 2017 & 2016 & 2015 (Mixed comp)

• U12s Division 1 – Born 2014 & 2013 (Mixed comp) 

• U12s Division 2 – Born 2014 & 2013 (Mixed comp)

2024 COMPETITION DATES :                

Term 4 Saturday competition - begin on the 19th of October and ends on the 14th of December. 

A total of 9 weeks including finals week (1v2, 3v4, 5v6, etc.).

HOW TO REGISTER :

​

There are two way to register to play in our Spirit competition, you can enter as a team or as an individual player looking to be added to an existing team. 

We try to ensure divisions and teams of similar ability. We will attempt to facilitate mid-season entries where possible but cannot guarantee entry as decisions will be made in the interest of existing participants.

Registering as a Team:

​

Entering as a team means you nominate the players in your team and the amount of players in your team (minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10). The players you nominate must meet the age and rep player limit of 3 rep players per team criteria (maximum number of rep players may vary depending on age group and division).

​

You also get to supply the uniforms of your choosing. Uniforms must be matching in colour, each be uniquely numbered from 1 - 99 and preferably reversible so as to avoid colour conflicts with other teams. 

​

• Team registrations are $1222.00 per team for the season

• All players must also have a current yearly BNSW membership with Marrickville Spirit Basketball Association and a PCYC Junior membership. 

​

Teams must nominate their your own coach and team contact person. Coaches  must provide a current Working With Children's Check number (WWC) and their date of birth as per the NSW parliament Children protection act. To obtain a WWC number please visit ;  WWC apply online

Registering as an Individual player:

​

If you'd like to be added to a team we will do our best to find you a team to join.  We reserve a few teams in each age group for new players. We also do our best to supply a coach to each of these teams (dependent on coaches availability).

Spirit Basketball will aim to allocate to each team a minimum of 7 players and a maximum of 10 players.

• Individual registrations are $183 per player for the season 

• All players must also have a current yearly BNSW membership with Marrickville Spirit Basketball Association and a PCYC Junior membership. 

​

Individual Players are required to purchase a Spirit competition reversible single (Shorts are optional). Kindly make your purchase through our webstore here , and pick-up your order at our Spirit competitions counter on game day. To ensure a smooth process, we recommend arriving early to give our staff ample time to prepare your order before the start of your game.

• Due to the high demand for registrations and limited numbers in the competition we do offer priority to members of Spirit Basketball competition. Any unsuccessful registrants will be provided with a refund.

• Change of mind refunds will not be provided.
